Question: Do I have to look like a model to become one?
Answer:
In a word, no, though so-called “supermodels” may share a certain look or body-type, the truth is there are thousands of highly successful models of all shapes and sizes around the world. That's because the modeling field offers a surprisingly wide range of full and part-time career options. In short, there is more to modeling - and the modeling business - than you'll see in the top fashion magazines.
Question: If I am interested in modeling and acting, what should I do?
Answer:
Most people who come to us are not sure if they are interested in pursuing modeling or acting. They want to learn and experience both fields and decide which suits them best. The John Casablancas Centers programs help you determine which field best suits your needs and personality, while teaching you the skills of both.
Question: What makes John Casablancas Modeling and Career Centers different from other training centers?
Answer:
Not only do we offer the courses you want and need most, but we also offer the experience and expertise to make them meaningful. We've developed the most ambitious and comprehensive professional modeling, acting and personal image development programs anywhere. We're proud to give our students and agency talent the benefit of our 25 years of experience in modeling, beauty, and personal image building. Question: Do you accept everyone?
Answer:
The answer is no. All prospects must meet certain requirements; including a personal interview to determine if they possess the qualities that the John Casablancas Center is seeking, and to determine if they can benefit from the John Casablancas System. A prospective student must display a determination to learn the skills of their chosen field and the dedication to pursue those skills.
Question: Who is John Casablancas?
Answer:
The most famous name in the modeling business, John Casablancas is the founder of the Elite Model Agency Group. He discovered and managed the careers of many of the world's most famous models. The JC Centers that carry his name are dedicated to providing their students with the same training, skills, and knowledge that ELITE models epitomize. The John Casablancas Centers began over 25 years ago to develop local talent to be promoted through their network of agencies worldwide.
Question: Why would I want to attend a career center if I don't want to become a model or actor?
Answer:
To become the person you want to be. In fact, many people take our personal image development courses simply because they're looking to change their style and enhance their self-image. Our programs are designed to assist students in achieving their personal best. We provide the tools to help them build the self-esteem that will be of lifelong benefit in any career they choose.
Question: Who are your students?
Answer:
People just like you. Our students represent both women and men, from preteens to adults. Many of our students train for modeling and acting careers, while others take our courses to improve their image, gain self-confidence, or to help them succeed in other careers. Some of our students are attending school, while others have already entered the workforce.
Question: Do you work with kids?
Answer:
Absolutely. Our programs begin at an early age and introduce young people to the industry in a way that they can easily understand. Our instructors who work with younger children tailor their classroom material to be age-appropriate.
I have been told about specialty modeling, but don't really understand what that means!
The John Casablancas Modeling and Career Centers offer programs for specialty modeling in many areas, including the Full Figured Woman. Sometimes referred to as “Plus Modeling“, this specialty has not only become an accepted area within the industry, but it also represents the largest population and fastest growing group in fashion.
Question: What is the time commitment?
Answer:
Generally, programs meet once a week for 1 to 2 hours per day, depending on the day of the week. Auditions or castings usually take place on Saturdays. If you are attending middle school, high school or college, your education must be your first priority. Most John Casablancas Centers will require you to maintain certain grades in order to continue attendance in their programs, or be eligible for agency placement after graduation.
